My first actual from-scratch work in quite some-time. I just had this idea in my head and ran with it. It was pretty much trial and error until I had it how I was satisfied. Hope you all enjoy the view and thanks for watching.
It is good to do art again like this. Hopefully I can do some more 3-D work soon. : ) Special thanks to IHEA, AK, and Ninpo.
"Just jump for it.. or you'll never know. Style on 'em."
you know what, when i look at this pic.... it talks to me about 9/11 actually... takeing it seriously when i look at a piece of art but it reminds me the people jumping off the buildings that i watched on tv and the long line can represent the tallest building and then leading upto the actual explosion, maybe you haven't thought of that when you made tbe pic. but that's what came to my mind, good job...
Its interesting that you call this Freefall because when I look at this the general shape reads as wing, or flight to me. But maybe that's what you were going for, the idea that you'll never learn to fly if you don't make the leap. The black and white jumping figures really emphasize that.
I really like how you took two warm colors, green and yellow, and made them work really well together. The white is a good accent to both, breaking them up just enough to make the piece appear both warm and cool.
The one thing I would suggest changing in the picture is really very small. The green-ish airplane towards the bottom of the piece (in the whitest part of the beam) doesn't need to be there. Does the echoing of that image imply something? If so then I would keep it, but I think the message of the image comes through by just keeping the top airplane.
